Introducing a New Direction for the Spa at
Four Seasons Resort Bali at Sayan
Immersed
in lush jungle greenery in the Ayung River valley, the Spa at Four Seasons
Resort Bali at Sayan has introduced a new concept – incorporating authentic
spiritual traditions, such as chakra balancing, Balinese Ayurvedic practices,
yoga and meditation.
The
inland jungle setting provides a serene, nurturing environment – ideal for
treatments that offer a deep inner focus. Guests have the opportunity to learn
genuine Balinese philosophy and discover a truly Eastern healing experience,
providing a practical, modern approach to living in bliss.
The
new Sayan spa concept was developed by Helen Norman, the Senior Director of Spa
for both Four Seasons Resorts Bali. A British native, Norman brings nearly 20
years of experience in the spa and wellness industry. Most recently she managed
the multi-award-winning Spa at Four Seasons Hotel Hong Kong.
According
to Helen Norman: “Balinese medicine adheres to the concept of complete oneness
– emphasising that there is no separation between us and what is around us. Ill
health is caused not only by imbalance in the physical body, but also by
spiritual disconnection to the larger world. In the Spa, we’re offering a truly
Eastern healing experience, with a powerful selection of authentic Balinese
healing traditions to help reconnect you to your whole, complete self.”
New
signature treatments at the Spa are selected according to each individual’s
needs. The seven Chakra Blessing treatments are designed to restore the energy
centres that run along the spinal column. Balinese Ayurvedic healing aims to
reestablish balance and wholeness. At the same time, local rituals such as Batu
Kali Riverstone Ritual reflect the age-old cleansing and beautifying traditions
of the Balinese people.
Nestled
within the Resort’s rice terraces and herb gardens, set on the banks of the
sacred Ayung River, the Spa encompasses just six treatment rooms, including
three couple’s suites, two double-size spa villas and a royal spa villa with
outdoor shower and bath. Guests can relax together in the shared hot and cold
plunge pools, plus separate men’s and women’s saunas and steam rooms located in
the changing rooms.
New Concepts at Both Four Seasons Spas in
Bali
With
two spas in Bali, Four Seasons reflects the two sides of Balinese spiritual
philosophy – balancing the internal and external worlds. At the jungle-immersed
Sayan, the focus is inward and nurturing, incorporating authentic spiritual
traditions such as chakra balancing and Balinese Ayurvedic healing. At the
beachside Jimbaran Bay, the feeling is open and outward, focused on the
cleansing powers of water, salt and crystals. Visiting both Four Seasons spas
is ideal to gain a total appreciation of the Balinese approach to life.
As
Helen Norman explains, “Spas around the world have always been influenced by
Balinese culture, and these two Four Seasons spas renew that international
leadership with the priorities of authenticity and education – inspiring our
guests to bring genuine Balinese practices into their daily lives as a simple
way to maintain wellness and peace of mind.”
