Bali,
June 15, 2013 - Archipelago International and Italy’s iconic illy coffee
conducted a Barista master class for aspiring coffee professionals from
Archipelago’s 14 Bali hotels and villas.
Held
in the recently opened Hotel NEO Legian - Jelantik, the master class was
conducted by illy Barista Bali’s M. Tito Lahat and focused on classic coffee
specialists such as Espresso, Cappuccino and Café Latte and other beverages
using coffee as base ingredient.
From
choosing the right milk at the right temperature for producing silky milk foam
to making the perfect cup of espresso which is the base for most coffee
beverages, Baristas from Ubud, Sanur, Seminyak and Kuta learned that making
coffee up to the highest European standards is a science by itself requiring
skills and passion.
“Our
customers are becoming more and more knowledge and passionate about their
coffee so we have chosen illy, which is Italy’s very best, as our standard
coffee in all our hotel, regardless if a 5 star Kamuela villa , a 4 star Aston
or a more basic select service favehotel. We are on a mission to elevate
standards across our hotels with the goal to become the best on the island”
said Budi Haryanto, Regional Chef Archipelago International.
