Nusa Dua, Bali, June 2013. The Westin Resort Nusa Dua, Bali was delighted to support the recent BII Maybank Bali Marathon 2013 as a Platinum Sponsor. The final day of this energizing international sporting event went exceedingly well on Sunday 16th June, 2013. The race highlighted the rural beauty of the Gianyar district with a route that passed cultural landmarks and local scenery.

The Westin Resort Nusa Dua, Bali was the official registration venue in the lead up to the marathon where athletes came to reconfirm their participation and collect their race packs. This took place in the newly revitalized Nusantara Foyer of the adjacent Bali International Convention Centre. It was an opportunity for the resort to showcase its soon-to-be-launched Westin Heavenly Spa, which is a brand initiative dedicated to personal wellness. A booth was set up offering all athletes a renewing 15 minutes head and shoulder massage to help release pre-race tension.

The resort also hosted a Carbo Dinner on the eve of the marathon in the calming ambience of the Temple Garden. It was a social evening featuring a health-enhancing menu served in a relaxed setting before the big event. Runners and spectators alike took pleasure in a delectable array of carbohydrate-inspired dishes prepared by our talented culinary team. Chef Valerio Pachetti was also on hand to give a sneak peak of some of the Italian fare that will be delighting guests at the soon-to-be-unveiled Prego restaurant.

The BII Maybank Bali Marathon 2013 is now an annual event that truly complements the Westin brand concept of preserving wellness in travel.
